Anantnag, Jul 27 (KNO): Eight people, including five children, lost their lives when the vehicle they were travelling in rolled down the Sinthan-Kokernag Road in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Saturday afternoon. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a Maruti Swift vehicle bearing registration number (JK03H9017) lost control and rolled down the road near Aarshan Hut, approximately 20 km from Daksum Naka. The official said the accident resulted in the immediate death of all eight passengers on board. “Due to a lack of network connectivity in the area, it took some time to inform the district administration in Anantnag,” he said, adding, “Upon receiving the information, medical, police, and CRPF teams, along with local residents, rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, all occupants of the vehicle were found dead, and their bodies were recovered and transported to SDH Kokernag.” Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag, Suheel Ahmad Lone, confirmed to KNO that eight members of a single family, including five children, died in the fatal accident.
